The Metamora Music Festival began in 1998 as a gathering of friends along the Whitewater Canal over the Labor Day Weekend. Over the years it grew and expanded and in 2007 the Back Porch was constructed and put into service. Two days of performances, workshops and demonstrations with no admission charge.

The Making Music area along the canal features instrument builders, jamming areas, and workshop spaces.
